Comparing the Standard Residential Rate to the TOU Rate
Between June 1 and September 30, the typical residential electric customer on the RS rate will pay 29.2 cents/kilowatt hour (kWh). If a customer switches from RS to TOU, they will pay 10.4 cents/kWh during off-peak hours, 27.4 cents/kWh during mid-peak hours and 59.9 cents/kWh during on-peak hours.
Between October 1 and May 31, the typical residential electric customer on the RS rate will pay 25.9 cents/kilowatt hour (kWh). If a customer switches from RS to TOU, they will pay 10.5 cents/kWh during off-peak hours, 26.5 cents/kWh during mid-peak hours and 38.5 cents/kWh during on-peak hours.
Enrolling in the TOU Rate
To enroll in the TOU rate, you must be a residential customer and have a smart meter installed at your home. If you do not have a smart meter,
you can call
908-425-3020 to make an appointment to have one installed at no additional cost.

From your My Account dashboard, click on the MyMeter button.
On the first MyMeter page, click on the Usage Dashboard tile in the upper left.

From the Usage Dashboard, click on the Compare your rate options icon. Follow the directions to compare rates.
If you choose to enroll in the TOU rate, click on Request rate change. You will receive a letter from PSE&G confirming that you were switched to the TOU rate.
Guaranteed Bill Protection
*NOTE: Current Residential Load Management (RLM) rate customers may switch to the TOU rate. If you do not realize a savings after the first 12 months, we will automatically credit your account for the difference. However, you cannot switch back to RLM at the end of 12 months, you must switch to the RS rate.
